Mangini's Rhubarb candy carries a tart, herbal bittersweetness in a smooth, old fashioned hard shell, an acquired taste with real character behind it. It is closer to a digestif flavor than a typical fruit candy, bitter before it turns sweet. Individually wrapped and set inside our signature cube box, it is a refined nod to an old Italian tradition that has mostly fallen out of fashion elsewhere.

Mangini has been making candy in Bosco Marengo, a town in Piedmont, since the years just after the Second World War, with the company taking its current form in 1981. It has stayed close to traditional Italian methods since then, favoring straightforward recipes over anything overly processed. Rhubarb candy has largely disappeared from most candy makers' lineups, but Mangini has kept it as part of its old fashioned hard candy range.
