Golia was developed in 1932 by the Milan confectioner Caremoli, originally as a balsamic pastille before it became the licorice and mint candy sold today. The brand later became part of Perfetti, now one of the largest confectionery companies in Italy, and it remains one of the country's most recognized candy names nearly a century later. Golia Bianca is the mint forward version of the brand's signature licorice candy, and it has run alongside the original formula for decades.
Few candies pair mint and licorice this well, and Golia has been doing it for close to a century.
