Sperlari has been making candy and torrone in Cremona since 1836, which makes it one of the oldest confectioners in Italy. The company is best known for its nougat, though it has produced a wide range of jellies and hard candies for well over a century. The Gran Gelees line represents a more modern direction for Sperlari, moving away from its older torrone specialty toward softer, fruit based candy.
