Mangini has been making candy in Bosco Marengo, a town in Piedmont, since the years just after the Second World War, with the company taking its current form in 1981. It has stayed close to traditional Italian methods since then, favoring straightforward recipes over anything overly processed. The Bye Gelees line has become one of Mangini's more recognizable products, largely because of how widely it is sold across Italy. Mangini sells a considerable amount of Bye Gelees each year, making it one of the company's higher volume products despite its small size.
